Throughout my coursework audience feedback helped me a huge amount with the decisions towards my final media products. My survey that I made, asking questions about if they preferred narrative or concept music videos and asking about different types of edits and what they thought was the most important element in a music video helped me a lot. The feedback I received from this therefore helped me to decide what features I was going to include in my music video and I took all their answers into consideration.
When editing my video I showed many class mates so that they could give me feedback and advice on my video and this helped me massively. As well as saying they liked parts of it they also told me which parts they didn't think worked as well which therefore helped me make adaptations so that it would appeal to my audience more.
As well as with help with my video, my audience also helped me with my design process of my dig-pack and poster. They gave me feedback with my drafts and gave me ideas about what to add or what I should change to improve the overall tone and look. Letting my audience see the media products that I was making really helped because they were therefore able to show me what they would prefer to see or how it would appeal to them.
Even after I had finished all my products, the survey that I created helped me to learn for future projects like this. They told me what worked well and what they thought would look better. Although I had finished editing my video and pages the feedback allowed me to learn about what I should look out for next time.
Examples of the feedback my audience gave me throughout the project:
POSTER:
- Change the colour of the font used at the top of the page
- Add the record label at the bottom of the page
- Increase the size of the date so that it stands out more
- Add either a Spotify or iTunes logo at the bottom of the page
DIGI-PACK:
- The CD looks too simple, add something onto the wings to make it look more interesting-add something that makes it more indie
- The inside cover is very plain-add the artists name onto it or the album release date
